2012 Focus 1.6 Diesel

Featured Replies

Hi, thought I would post and hopefully get some guidance.

Just replaced the nearside driveshaft due to inboard boot split and tripod bearing was trashed, Focus 2012 Diesel

Replaced the wishbone and anti roll bar link during this job.

Now get a horrible clunking sound when driving at all speeds and over uneven ground

When fitting the wishbone which fits under the sway bar (anti roll bar) bush, I didn’t check the bush condition or disturb it to much. (Maybe the bush needs changing)

I read somewhere run the car without the sway bar link fitted to check if the clunk disappears.

Can you damage the driveshaft fitting it into the gearbox, I did give the end a gentle knock with a mallet to feed it home.

Any help mush appreciated.
