Focus mk 2. Offside repeater

Featured Replies

Hi all,  my offside repeater dont work .  The bulb is ok, but not getting power up to it. The wires inside the aperture, looks like they have been lengthened through a connector to reach up to the housing.  I cant pull the wires out the aperture far enough to get to this connector,  so really my question is, where do the wires go to , going the other way, …..do they end up in the engine bay.  At the top left of engine bay, theirs a loom? that dissapears into a hole, and it looks like it might contain thinner wires that go to offside repeater.  Can anyone confirm this?  Thanks, terry

According to the Haynes manual, there should be a blue/white wire running power to the repeater bulb from the GEM control unit above the passenger foot well.

There is then a black wire running from the repeater to an earth point behind the driver's side headlight.

The electrical connectors on the GEM unit are known to be susceptible to corrosion from moisture. That may be worth looking into as a cause of the problem.
