Ford focus mk3 2.0 tdci non-ST vs ST

Featured Replies

Hey! I am on the lookout for a focus and came across the ford focus mk3 2.0tdci which i believe has the same engine as the mk3 ST version so i am wondering what the difference between those 2 are?

because i want a cheap car that i can easily tune and if i can use parts that are for the ST version, like intercooler, cold air intake, exhaust etc etc, that would be easy to find.

also is it the same body and could i fit a st bumper on the non-ST?

thanks!

The basic engine is the same, but the intake and exhaust are different, and I believe the turbo & injectors may be different as well.  These do remap quite well even without any hardware upgrades though.

You can fit an ST bumper onto a standard Mk3, but it'll look a bit weird without the rest of the body upgrades.  You'll need bigger wheels, bigger brakes and lowering springs etc to get the full ST look.
