auto lights auto high beam and dash speed warning new ST-LINE Vignale

Featured Replies

just collected my brand new 2022 focus st-line vignale 1.5 diesel 8 speed auto , overall im very happy with the car, now first off all its fitted with FORD LED headlights ,it says so on them it does the lighting up left/right when turning and they come on automaticaly , however i cant find anywhere in the dash settings or on the SYNC 4 options for auto headlights on/off and ithe the same for auto high beam ,dont seem to have it only manual high beam via indicator stalk, next the dash its the full digital version but dosent seem to be a option to turn off/on the speed sign warning, any body got any info on these things

thanks shaun

I know it's a bit old school, but have you checked the manual?

Have you set the dial to auto lights? From there the setting should be available on the message centre for the auto high beam. It will be on the instrument panel under 'lighting'.

Hi as far as I'm aware auto high beam is part of the driver assist pack, not standard according to the brochure.

Correct.

If you want auto high beam you will need to configure it with FORscan

Auto high beam was standard with adaptive LEDs on pre-facelift (so standard on 'proper' Vignale).  It's not standard on the fixed LEDs.

Auto lights are now a legal requirement on every new car.  It's the little 'A' in a circle on the light switch.  But should also default to auto every time anyway.

That's not actually correct.

Whether the car was Halogen, Fixed LED or Adaptive LED, Auto high beam was part of the driver's assistance pack and still is

I have a PFL Vignale, it absolutely is correct!

As with IRS, the dealers didn't actually know what was standard regarding the lights and I had to do my own investigation.  DA pack was not standard, so there's no adaptive cruise, but there is AHB with adaptive LEDs.

Mmm, that's contrary to other Vignales.

But, I stand corrected, said the man in the orthopaedic shoes

You should not have cornering fog lights then too

It's the Vignale Edition models that got adaptive LEDs as standard.  The older 'non-Edition' only had the crappy fixed LEDs.  Mine is actually a really rare model, only built for a few months and genuinely 'fully loaded' unlike most of the rubbish on Autotrader lol.

You're correct about the fogs not being used for cornering on this.  Just checked against my old Titanium X to compare.

You can't turn auto lights off permanently.  It defaults back to auto every time you start the engine.  That's a legal requirement for all new cars now.
