I spoke to Ford regarding getting some spec information on an St-3 but they told me due to data protection they couldn't tell me 😕

I have seen Ford Etis mentioned quite a few times but when I went to sign up and use it I couldn't. Is there an alternative?

If a car has the launch control does that mean it has the performance pack with the other extras or can you have the launch control on its own?

if you have the ford performance option for the screen between the dials that gives you a launch control button, they you'll have the performance pack. If you post your VIN then I can give you the full build options list.

If a car has the full performance pack it will say "Engine Performance Level-High" going off my own ST-3 which does have the PP, so in theory yours does not, but i've never known one to have launch control but not be part of the performance pack. Maybe someone else can shed some light on this?

Hi, thank you very much for the information, really appreciate that. The car is a 2020 plate but built in 2019, I think that's were the confusion has been as it was advertised as having certain extras I don't think were standard until the 2020 builds. There is another car I was looking at but I only have the reg not the VIN for that so not sure if the information is available with just the reg. Would you be able to check that also? I apologise if I'm being rather cheeky by asking you to help further, thanks.

Ford etis does also tend to work off the reg. Thats how i got the spec of the st-3 i am getting at the weekend. The one i am getting is a 69 plate, but build date is very late 2019, so it has the 2020 spec with PP and B&O, and led projector lights as standard. Cars around this age are very hard to work out what they have, due to the spec sheet always changing.

Yeah the ST-3 I am looking at is a 20 plate but built october 2019. The dealership have told me it's 2020 spec with PP and B&O, and led projector lights as standard. But going from what Tom kindly posted it would seem that isn't correct. I will have to get onto the dealership and get them to confirm this before I travel 100 miles. I tried to use Ford Etis but it I couldn't get it to work as a member of the public rather than a dealer/trade etc. Unless there's a way around that?

I'm niter, but managed to get an account about a year ago, so i can access the information before buying my own. It seems making an account isn't possible now, not in the same way i was able to.

If as you say the car was built in one of the many transition periods between 2019 and 2020 specs that may be where the dealership have got confused. Although, they should have access to this same information ETIS provides, it's unlikely this information is wrong as it must pull from some ford database.

I can try the reg of the other car if you'd like, as i say checking my own ST-3 knowing for a fact what it has, my car shows on ETIS correctly with all packs and extras stated, i've just checked again as i don't want to misinform you, i can only go off what it says. Maybe worth asking on the fiestastoc forum in the MK8 section, you'll get a reply pretty quick, maybe someone else has some other insight.

Hi, thanks for your reply. I have had an email from the dealership today to say that the listing on the website contained auto generated information and that the car doesn't actually have the performance pack etc. Bit of a shame but at least I'm getting my deposit back without any hassle so that's the main thing.

The reg on the other vehicle is CK69 RGV, it doesn't have the performance pack listed on the extras part of the advert but it does have that and the B&O system listed on another part of the listing so it's a little confusing. It may well be they have used auto geenerated info/spec as the previous dealer did, which is a bit of a pain. Thanks in advance, much appreciated.

The Ford ETIS site closed last year and was decommissioned. There is no replacement for the general public, only a new site for Ford dealers.

There is a guy on the Fiesta ST owners club site who seems to have access to the info. You could join up there if not already a member.

PP became standard on an ST3 from late 2019, so would have been an option if fitted to a 19 plate.

I would comment that the diff can be a mixed blessing depending on how good/bad your local roads are. On the plus side, traction out of bends is terrific. On the minus side, on rutted, potholed, broken roads (which I am blessed with) it can be an effort to keep it in a straight line when giving it plenty. As I often find myself doing overtakes on narrow Dales roads with a large tractor to my left and a stone wall to my right, this can be "interesting".😀

I have read that the "launch control" feature can be activated using Forscan on a non-PP car.
