This is why we have our oil changed every 6 months with it being diesel and short trips.

Yes, my Mrs had a Citroen diesel for donkeys years mainly doing short trips, so I used to do it myself every 6 months. Mind you, it was a lot simpler/cheaper back in those days with everything being easy to access and no fancy oil requiring a second mortgage!😀

Yup. It's no fun if you havent any ramps available. Large hands and size 11 feet don't help either.

Mileage that low would be classed as "arduous conditions".

Yes, or ‘extreme’, which can be classified as short trips.

2,500 miles in two years is extremely low mileage and suggests short trips where the engine never gets chance to warm up, cold starts, long periods of disuse, etc, where condensation can build up and degrade the oil, so annual oil changes would certainly be recommended.

My mileage is pretty low nowadays (though still much higher than that) and I get a "deal" at my local dealer when combining the annual "convenience check" with an oil and filter change. Plus, assuming your dealer participates, you get 12 months breakdown cover at a Ford dealer.

Even doing an oil & filter change twice a year is not going to be an issue, especially with your severe winters & cold temps.

Absolutely. That is why you have supplemental services in the log book if the vehicle is used under extreme/arduous conditions.
