Driver’s door central locking and wing mirror malfunction

Featured Replies

My driver side door central locking seems to be confused and locks straight after unlocking, sometimes repeatedly. Also the driver side mirror doesn’t always retract properly and seems to be noisy and labouring when in operation.

How do I fix this? Everything works but not all of the time, so I don’t think it’s a fuse. The fact that it does different things each time suggested an electronic failure, probably due to moisture. Am I looking at replacing the mirror and door lock actuator? Or is the fix something else. Is this a fix I could try myself?

Any advice would be really appreciated.

Maybe check the wiring in the door shut harness, common fault on alot of cars, worth a free look for broken wires

Perfect diagnosis! Yep, if a fuse blows, it stops the supply of electricity, and the item doesn't work... 👍
