2012 MK3 1.6 petrol

Push button start, service history of the vehicle is unknown, no service due message on the dash

Carrried out an oil and filter change today wanted to reset the service indicator but it doesn't work, does the reset only work if the message is on the dash?

Followed the instructions found on the link below, but didn't work

Are there any other methods to carry out an oil reset?

    works fine on mine. did you have the drivers door shut, if not thats why you didn`t get it to work. (you can reset it anytime you want to)

    I can't remember unfortunately.  Finding someone else with the same engine, year and spec to ask would be the best bet...

    I'd assume it either came in for all models later, or only for higher trim levels with the bigger dash screen, or only for higher engine specs, but I don't know which, if any, would be correct.

    I can't answer the question as to whether or not your car has a service indicator, but remember the reset procedure only works if the bonnet, and all doors are closed before you try and reset it.

    Everything was closed, doors, bonnet, windows etc

    It's the titanium trim spec with satnav

    I can only presume my particular vehicle doesn't have it 😞
