Fiesta immobilizer

Featured Replies

Hello,

My daughter has a 2007 fiesta 1.6 diesel that will not start, she had it towed to a Ford garage that said it was the ecu that needed programming.

they said they could not fix it because they do not have the software for older cars. I have found a ECU repairer near me. but I need to get the car back to my house.

Is there any way I can get it started just to get it home. as they Charge £50.00 for delivery.

Sounds like there's some confusion over the fault.  The immobiliser isn't in the ECU on these.

There is no way you can start it with the immobiliser active.

Stupid question but Have you tried the spare key?

The Ford Garage said it is the ecu that needs reprogramming, and they can not do it because they do not keep the software for older cars.

I did try the other key. Ford said the keys are ok.

Well good luck with that.

As Tom has already said the immobiliser is not in the ECU it is part of the instrument cluster on your model.

Yes I know that. Fords are saying that it is the ECU that is not sending a signal to the immobiliser.
