Pump oil drainer

Featured Replies

Does anyone use one of those oil pump/siphon things to suck the oil out of the dipstick tube for regular oil changes ,are they any good ,any recommendations ?

I still do it the old fashioned way via the sump plug. That way, the flow of warm oil will take any crud out the bottom of the sump which would most likely get left behind if using a siphon.

I've used an oil pump a few times now.  Just a cheap ebay one, can't remember the brand.  Quick, clean, easy...and on engines where the oil filter is accessible from above, saves having to jack up.

My engine isn't full of sludge, the excess diesel from failed regens keeps that thinned down.
