2009 Ford Focus CC3

Ladies, Gentlemen, and hermaphrodites.

Could any one of you lovely people give me some of your very valuable knowledge?

As per the ***** (i mean title, typo) I have an 09 Ford Focus CC3 (basically the mk 2.5 with the convertible roof) the drivers rear window has stopped going up. Its been in the local garage, who have proven the fault to the window regulator. (all well and good)

Before i raid breakers/online dismantlers and put the feelers out, is this a common part that is shared between the models (ie from the vanilla focus(es? focii?), CMAX, the mondie or hell, even off the fiesta? i would assume so as its a regulator) as the only place the garage can get one for the CC3, is OEM from the local stealership at 550 quid a pop. 😳 ya boi aint doin that. I have a reasonably good relationship with the garage, who have said they're happy to fit one that I source (under the caveat theres no guarantee on the part as its customer supplied, which is understandable)

I hope that this is a common part, as there are only < 350 of this CC3 left registered (howmanyleft.co.uk) on the road today. with it being the window reg, this *technically* also knocks out the convertible roof (although this time of year I'm not really that arsed about it, hah. as long as its ready for summer should we decide to sell.)

Rear 1/4 reg is unique, the one from an older pre-facelift will be the same though.

There are places that can recondition regulators, new bobbins and cables etc, do a bit of research before you buy new

ofc it is... why wouldnt it be?! 🤣🤣🤣

TBH Dave, buying new isnt an option, its a, 09 and whilst a lovely car to drive, in lovely condition and whatnot, its 13, soon to be 14 years old.

I'm watching a couple of regulators out of other focus models (one looks to be the CMAX, one from the hatch) the only real thing I can see that would be unique would be the bracket/mounts I would've thought. Thanks for the input. I'll have to dig a little deeper than i thought.

Size of regulator meaning cable length, which means it's unique.

Try Ebay, there are some Focus and Ford breakers on there and research for repairers too

quick update. there was a breaker on ebay that had a complete drivers rear eleckie window unit (motor, guides, regulator. cables etc) for £185. I've gone for that as quite frankly most of the repair kits didnt cover the CC variants. yes i've probably wasted a cluck-tonne of cash, but its the simplicity of swap in/out I'd like to give the garage.

TBPH the CC3 might end up being my daily at this rate. 🥴

That was the best option.

Hope it's sorted now.

White grease, fully, the mechanism before you reinstall and grease the other side while you're at it👍
