Hey, I'm looking for some advice. I made a mistake about a year ago by changing my car battery by connecting the terminals in the wrong order. Once I did that I felt like I've fried my ECU.

I get an Engine Malfunction Error and an Automatic failure when it's a manual car. I've had two (Non-ford mechanics) check it with a OBD scanner unable to fix the issue.

I'm looking to get the car fixed a year later and thinking of just buying a second-hand ECU and installing it myself or just play it safe and taking it to a ford garage. My budget to fix it would be around £800 and anything over that I'll just leave it how it is
