Hi all

Picked up my new to me Focus Titanium X on Friday. I’m just getting my head around all of the tech and have a potential issue and a question.

The potential issue is that my start/stop isn’t working. I’ve pressed the button by gear lever, the active/deactivated message comes up on the dash but the A logo remains crossed out (vehicle is warm and in normal/eco mode). Any pointers? 

My question regarding the driving modes is how many should I have? On screen I can flick between Normal/Eco/Sport, yet on the button by gear lever i have snow and rain logos. Do these options only become available to choose when it’s either raining or the temperature is below a certain figure, or are they not available on my car?

I will be in contact with the dealer, however I’d like to sort it at home without the 90 min trek across Birmingham.

Apologies if these have been asked before in here, I’m new to forum and trying to suss it all out too.

First step get a multimeter and check battery voltage

I hate the thought of being forced in to having an EV and will probably manage to resist long enough that I will have departed this world before that day comes. However there will be one almighty major advantage when everyone has to drive EV's............ there will be no more questions about Stop/Start not working 👍

There's only three drive modes for a standard Focus, Four for an ST (I believe) and then more for a Kuga, but only one button, used on all vehicles.

Stop/Start not working is due to low battery voltage and poor battery monitoring system

Fully charge battery and reset (or get dealer to) battery monitoring system

Focus Active also has 'Trail' and 'Slippery' modes.  As above, same button used on all of them though.

Unless of course, you are sitting at the roadside waiting for the breakdown guy to turn up with a can of electric to get you going again 😅

Is it an automatic? Auto holds a cracking feature. (Not sure what it’s like on a manual)  Took me a while to trust it , especially on hills , it’s on 100% of the time now.
