Some Help with my lads 2013 ford fiesta (coolant pipe)

Featured Replies

Thanks in advance

Im looking at replaying a hose on the lads car as there seems to be a clip that's somehow gone walkies. I was just wondering if this is the type of pipe i put back on as there seems to be a lot of talk of a modified pipe ? Number on the pipe -

C1B1 8C012 BE, Plastic fitting & cip thats onto the expansion bottle and metal spring clip onto turbo water feed. Pics below

Thanks

Wayne

Hello Wayne,

I would recommend replacing the expansion tank as it looks ready to fail. They are well known for developing small hairline cracks and leaking when under pressure. The filler cap on these are also quite often an issue and get stuck or fall apart when you undo them.

I guess the wet timing belt and wet oil pump belts have probably not been replaced yet, but will be due some time in the next 12 months. Get them done sooner rather than later. That would be the ideal time to replace the degas pipes and upgrade.

Check the metal pipe on the turbo, these are a potential source of failure due to rust.
