Relay

Featured Replies

Can anyone help me please? I think a relay in the rear fuse box has blown as it got scorch marks on. But from what I can see it's marked R5M1 on online diagrams but not sure what it does as having trouble with the electrics with the rear of the car. Luggage compartment apparently open but its not. can't open my boot as won't release. My rear wiper motor has seized in position and makes a noise when you unlock the car only way to stop it is put the key in the ignition turn on then off. The luggage compartment fault now also comes on when i push the brake and put it in reverse It's driving me insane

It would seem information on the relays is "Top Secret", I don't have the 2009 schematics for your model.

maybe @iantt will know.

Sounds like the usual wiring harness damage where it goes from tailgate to the roof area. Inside the rubber convoluted tube.

Edit, found the relay info.

You will either need to get auto electrician to have a look and fix the wires , or if your competant around cars, get it apart and fix the wiring.

Thanks iantt would it be a case of a new relay as it looks to have blown and check the wiring?

I would check the wiring first and go from there. That means getting the tailgate open . There is a way to get it it open if the electrics fail and method dends on age and latch type. Sure I can find the info somewhere. Will go and have a look.

Your car should be a later type latch, so no need to remove any panels. Just cut and peel back a bit of plastic cover.
