Will the orange side repeater lenses from the Fiesta or C-Max fit the Mk2 Focus?

Featured Replies

As the title says.

My current clear side repeater lenses always seem to have water droplets inside. The seal between the plastic housing and the lens has failed with age. The plastic housings are also looking powdery where the plastic is degrading.

The new after market orange coloured ones are a couple of quid cheaper. They look to be exactly the same apart from the colour.

Do the pattern ones usually fit ok?

Yes 👍

Thanks for the reply.

I will try running a bead of super glue around the joint on the the current ones before buying any replacements.

I actually think orange lens indicators show up better during the day. They don't reflect sunlight as much as clear lenses with orange bulbs and silver reflectors.

Not sure about 'superglue' but I ran a bead of clear sealant round mine 2 years ago, they have been watertight ever since...

yes, as Stephen has said I'd be careful of using super glue. Nice clear silicon sealant might be a safer option.

I did use cyanoacrylate glue (aka super glue) in the end as I decided this would be less messy than sealant.

It seems to be working so far. If they leak again I will replace them.
