My fan blower has suddenly stuck on the cold and face-vent settings only. This happened last year and my usual garage had a look and somehow managed to fix it onto screen and heat settings for the winter ( without taking the dash off)! A few months after that it seemed to just fix itself! Is this a generic Ford Focus thing?

1st thing I would have done is asked them exactly what they did to 'fix it'. As whatever it was , is highly likely to have happened again, and if you knew what they did, you may be able to have a go yourself. No, it's not a 'generic focus thing', but a 2012 model will be a simple control of cables, and likely something has come adrift from a mounting, or a cable has snapped. 

Another 'sneaky peeker'. They had a look at your reply Stephen but weren't to fussed at the suggestion.

Never mind, I've taken the liberty and already signed them up for Readers Digest, Watch Tower, and a complimentary visit from the  Jehovah witnesses to see if they can be saved 🤣
