2006 Focus drivers door latch replacement.

Featured Replies

Hello all.

I have a driver's door "latch" issue that doesn't want to shut properly, so I have to slam it a little to close it.

Any cheap way of buying a new replacement latch mech and how to replace them...?

Hope to hear from any of you soon.

Thank you.

Surely it's only the door striker plate that wants adjusted ?

If it will latch when you 'slam' it then the door latch must be working.

I remember my father in law having this problem occurring shortly after buying a brand new car. I found the striker plate had not been done up tight and had moved slightly. I move it outward slightly and did up tight and was fine after that

The "striker plate" that's located onto the pillar part of the car right...?

Correct.

Normally held on by two Torx head counter sunk screws, possibly size T40

Cheers man, just double checking myself that I understood correctly.
