Hi all

I was recently on a trip back on the motorway when I had the traction light come on, I lost all engine power and now can’t get it started again

car was running fine before this on the trip down, was only about 45 minutes and I’m confused as I have all power to the car just can’t start it, not even ticking over

hope this makes sense

Do you mean it's not turning over?  The starter doesn't engage at all?  Any click from the starter when you turn the key?

No nothing. There’s a clicking from the boot but that’s about it

thanks

Battery is probably knackered then.  Just enough power for the dash, but not enough to engage the starter.  Two quick checks you can do - first check the alternator belt is still present and hasn't snapped.  Second, check the battery terminals are tight.

I guess you don't have a multimeter to check battery voltage?

Yh the belt on the alternator is still on, and the terminals are tight as well

have the aa coming out anyway so I’m sure they’ll confirm, hopefully.

thanks again mate
