Don’t let Asda overcharge you - if they do then get your giftcard

Two weeks ago I was queueing at Asda customer service to complain they overcharged me.   My bother walked past and said have they overcharged you as well?  Yes. He then says make sure they give you a £2 gift card. Apparently when overcharging they have a policy of giving you a £2 gift card in addition to correcting the bill. But apparently they don’t always offer it, you have to remind them. I know it’s hard to detect overcharging because you can’t remember the price of everything but two weeks ago they overcharged me, one week ago they overcharged me and again this week, that’s the last 3 visits. Different items each time, that’s just based on items I remembered the prices of . So I put the shopping in the car, then go back in to check I’m right and photograph the price label then go to customer service desk. I would imagine it’s happened more often than I have detected but I’m checking more now.  So be on the ball and check and if wrong tell them you want your £2 gift card.   I’d rather they were just not scamming people in the first place as it’s hassle queueing up at customer services but if no one challenges them then they won’t make any effort to do it properly.   So we have to make a stand.  I could vote with my feet but no other big supermarket is convenient to get to for me.
