What's the difference between the 2.0 ecoblue 150bhp and 180bhp

Featured Replies

Does anyone know what the difference is between the 150bhp and 180bhp 2.0 ecoblue engines found in the mk4 Focus's?

I couldn't have answered that better myself 🤣

Afaik there is/was no 180ps diesel. A 190ps was briefly available in the ST only. All other versions got the 150ps or the 1.5.

Never seen much about the ST diesel, I would imagine differences are mainly down to mapping.

Don't think Superchips have a listing for the 150ps at the mo, for some reason. My local garage are agents for Quantum Tuning and I think they have one for the Mk 4 2.0 150 TDCI that takes it to 185 or so.

Sneaky Peeker Alert !!!

@Stingray1987 checked back in to view the answers, must not have been too much impressed with Rogers answer. He was probably more of a 30bhp man 🤣

Some great responses 🤣. If anyone does know then please give me a shout. I'm loving the car bar the performance, ive seen the st2 2.0 ecoblue maps upto 200+bhp so if its as simple as a turbo+injectors then a remap then thats the plan. If the pistons are different i.e compression ratio then I'll have to put up with it i suppose.

I don't think there's much difference other than mapped differently. Compression ratio is the same 16.5 -1. Quite a few tuning company's don't list a remap. The engine isnt the most reliable in transit form that I know of and assume they stay away from it.
