Fiesta Mk7 replacement tailgate wiring loom issue

Featured Replies

Hi All,

I have bought a replacement tailgate from a scrappy for my son's car which he bashed a few weeks back (reversed into a bush apparently!). The 'new' tailgate wiring has been cut and it looks as if there are no main connectors near the body closure so think I'll have to cut his and patch them up. 12 wires and they are all black so going to have to try and identify them which is a pain! Has anyone come across this issue before and have constructive advice? Kinks to this part of the wiring loom diagrams or anything like that would be good.

There should be no need to cut the harness. When the cars are built in the factory the tailgate is pre-wired and plugged in to the main body harness.

I'm not sure of the exact location of the plug and socket on your model but it is normally found in the head lining about 200mm from the edge of the tailgate opening. Of course you will now have to transfer over your original wiring to the replacement.
