Exhast melting bumper

Featured Replies

Hi there I have a 2006 Ford fiesta. I installed a aftermarket silencer and it seems to be touching the bumper and has melted a part of it where it touches I did place a small price of wood In between but has seems to fall out woukd there be any fixes for this thanks dylan.

Either cut the bumper or bend the exhaust hangars.

how would i bend them?

Big pair of grips or a big lever bar

A sledge hammer is often very good at bending things 🤣

Might be an idea to post a pic of what exhaust you have fitted/how it looks, to enable better suggestions to be made. Block of wood is not  a good idea!

In a previous car, I had a similar issue with an 'aftermarket' 3" exhaust, and a bodykit. The exhaust place that fitted it for my simply used a bigger rubber hanger - solved it for the next 6 years I owned her!
