Focus 3.5 Estate Boot Power Outlet

Featured Replies

Sure this must have bern asked before but couldnt find.

Have 16reg Focus Estate, the power outlet in boot not now working, both outlets in car do work. Can only see reference to one fuse for power outlets, replaced that ‘just in case’. No sign of life at outlet in boot. Replaced the actual socket. Any guidance please? Is there a separate fuse for boot outlet?

thanks Peter

Just checking that you know that it only works when the ignition is on.

Yes thanks I do know that but thinking now that when I checked I may not have had ignition on!!Though not sure, I'll look again.

Cheers Peter

That's bad news. If I remember correctly the rear power socket is controlled by the Body Control Module (BCM), so either you have a fault with that, or more likely you have a broken wire or corroded connector.

I have the full Ford wiring schematics for the Focus 2014/2015 if you what to download them let me  know.

Check fuse 25 in the the rear fusebox

Thanks both I'll check fuse 25 tomorrow now. Thanks for offer of schematics, possibly a bit over the top for me I'm afraid I can check fuses etc but electrical diagrams are a bit confusing to me.

Fuse 25 should be a larger one of the fuses and 20amp and called a j case fuse. Halfords sell them .

And also check the socket's earth connection.

Iantt yes thanks changed fuse 25&all good now. I’d looked at a fuse diagram/description online to see if any other fuse, couldn’t see any&F25 was noted as not used. However after above advice looked at my owners handbook and F25 luggage compartment is noted luggage compartment auxilary power!!Thanks again these sites so useful for the likes of myself.
