Hi, I'm new to the owners club and have a fiesta 2015 red edition 140. Lately I have noticed an issue changing down from third to second gear, only happened on two journeys but I'm having trouble getting it into second from third, feels like its crunching to get in. Park the car then go back in it an hour or so later and the issue has gone. Any ideas, thanks.

Failing synchros on this box particularly with the 140 engine, are a commonly reported problem, unfortunately.

Hi Eric, thanks for coming back. Is this an expensive fix. 

Unfortunately, yes. Ford did replace/repair some boxes under warranty but it's unlikely now. It's either strip and replace the damaged components or new/reconditioned/good used box.

Perhaps worth checking for clutch or linkage faults also, but from the history of these things the box seems most likely.

Another thing to bear in mind is your car is about 3 years away from a cambelt change (very expensive on these engines - main dealers charge up to £1400 though some members have found cheaper specialists) so you may want to consider how long you intend to keep the car before committing to expensive repairs.
