P02E8 code on volvo v50 with the ford engine

Hello. I have a 2012 Volvo v50 D2. Now, I know it's not a ford but it has the same platform as the focus and the the engine is a 1.6 liter ford turbodiesel. The check engine light is on and it gives me a P02E8 code, diesel intake airflow position sensor circut low. This has been going on for a couple of months but the car runs fine with normal fuel consumption, the light comes and goes sometimes. Do any of you know what the problem could be? Is it some kind of sensor that needs replacement?
