2019 mk4 Focus - brake system and esc fault after changing discs and pads - PLEASE HELP!!!

Featured Replies

Ive finally gotten around to having a go at replacing the discs and pads, took the pads and disc off the front drivers side and noticed the replacement discs were smaller than them fitted, Thanks GSF.

I put the old disc and pad back on but now that corner is not braking. I get the following errors:

- ECS Malfunction

- Brake system malfunction and the red ! sign and the yellow ! sign.

- Collision aviodance not working

I have plugged in my odb2 reader and reset all fault codes using the forscan app for andriod but this has not fixed the problem.

Any advice as ive done this at a friends so have a 60 mile drive with the front driver brake not working.

Cheers.

Can you reset the ABS module with the Forscan app?

Have you knocked the ABS plug by accident?

The hydraulics should still function fine so it's concerning there's no braking on that corner.  I assume you've pimped the pedal to get the pads sitting up against the disc again?

The ESC relies on the signal from the ABS sensor so, as Tom says, it's likely you've disturbed the wiring to the sensor. Check the connector hasn't become disconnected.

It was an abs sensor, replaced it and all sorted. Thanks
