Ford Focus MK3 2015 Headlamp xenon problem

Featured Replies

Hello all,

i got a problem with my Ford with headlamp on the right side, at night or in a morning when i start up a car, everything is OK the headlamps will set up (move dove up, left right) and when i drive straight they are OK, but when i turn right, the right side will blink like 2 or 3 times fast and then switch off, the left side is good. when i trun off motor and then start it up again everything is fine again, but in a few minutes this hapend again and the right side will switch off, but the turn signals work also the LED works too, only the main lamp but wierd part is this only hapend when i have light on Automode, when i switch it to manual switch on mode, so the Xenon are not moving when i turn, the light is OK, so i think there could be a problem with some wires or bad contact when the light do adjusment.

do some one know where could be a problem or have some one this kind of problem? thank you for your awnsers, and sorry for my english hope you can understand all.

David.

Hey David .

Try this at night ( i think you will se better ) : when you have the chance to drive somewhere with speed of 1-5 mph/km . turn the lights on automatic and then try to turn the steering wheel slight to the left (if you se the headlight will blink then i guess you have a ground somewhere in the headlight) if not turn to maximum ,and observe when the light will go off ! same for right side .

Second option :
Putt a diagnose ,and try to move it remotely (max left and then max right)

hope i help you !

Have a great day !

Hey Raul,

thank you for the help, and sorry for my late answer, i was doing some tests but nothing good, i also bought new Xenon bulp to test it out, but it was not it, i have new bulp inside and still tha same problem, i also noticed that the light when it blinks it also hapend when im driving straight.

also i did what you told me, was driving slow and turning left and right and it was OK, but when i was driving like 1-2 min the light blinked twiced and turn off, but still i dont understand when i switch off and on motor it is OK, and then after few minutes it will blink and turn off.

so my last hope is the diagnose, my mechanic is usless for this, so i have to contact the Ford dieler or i am ordered on 1. December to one servis where they have a diagnose (becouse of some turbo/engine problems which im also lost :D) so maybe we can try it there.

Have you tried a wiggle test?

When the light was switch off(broken), i dissmount the whole light and i disconnect the one Xenon and then connect it back again, but didnt do anything, it was still of and engine was running and the light on the other side was working.

but i didnt test it when the light is switch on, i will test it today at night.
