Aux audio input - where?

Featured Replies

Is there an Aux audio input somewhere in a MK 2 Focus registered January 2007? - The User Manual says yes ??? It mentions the glove box (and a separate user guide).

Baffled of Derbyshire 😘

It was an optional extra.  If fitted it'll be at the top of the glovebox when opened, white circular port.

Another clue that it may have it, is the actual head unit will have an AUX button on it. (top left) If it has the button, but no visible input, you can buy a lead for the back of the unit which will offer you the option to plug an AUX cable into it - that's what I had to do. If it does not have an AUX button, you won't be able to add that functionality.

Thanks all - Stephen, given purchase of appropriate lead/adapter how do I get to the rear of the head unit?

You'll need 4 x keys (well, bits of metal!) LOL

Insert one in each corner and they will release the fitting, then just pull out.

Many thanks Stephen. I think my biggest issue, rather than the lack of Aux input, would be the possible loss of code as I don't have it. I've got around the issue temporarily by getting one of those FM transmitter thingies that plug in to the cigarrette lighter. It accepts Bluetooth and flash drives and sounds pretty good. Just can't figure out why when I switch to a saved frequency I get no sound until I unplug the transmitter!

Cheers,

Allan

If you press and hold buttons 1 and 6 the unit should display it's serial number. There will be a lot of info scroll past but the serial number normally starts with a V or an M. Once you know the S/N then the code is not a problem. 😉

We discussed the 'code' issue very recently if you have the S/N (a web site giving an instant return for free). Though I had bookmarked it, but can't see it. Where you more thorough than I was?

EDIT

Found it...

Yes I added it to my bookmarks 👍

Just don't post it on the forum, admin can be a bit touchy about things like that.
