hi again guys-this problem cropped up the last few trips (total 25mls)starts o/k-runs for 2 mins o/k. then revs go up to 3000-jerking poor throttle response-then cuts out,restarts o/k.will do it again and again--noticed temp gauge not working until it stalled for the third time today-restarted temp gauge working all o/k. not showing any lights or codes.  note--dash board changed about 1000 miles ago for brand new.running on e10 whitch is ***** rubbish but e5 is scarce.be thankful of any ideas you can come up with !!youve not failed me yet !! tia pete.

anyone think of anything? could it be temp sensor? or-----------.

What did you use to read the codes with ?

only a cheapo scanner from  ebay/maybe time to spend out and get it properly read !!! car this morning went one mile-then started acting up-drove to town and temp gauge going up and down-rough running all the way there and back home.(gauge goes from cold stop to boiling many times.)

You won't get better than using FORScan and a good ELM327(modified) cable.

Explain please? Do you mean new Instrument Cluster?

Does the speedometer work? Faulty speed sensors can cause issues like these

Tesco Super (E5 99RON) is good and not much more than 95RON, use that and see if it improves

very few--when they got it.!!!

finally fixed--taken to garage for code reading,they found p1132-but could not find whitch sensor was the main problem--so they let another garage have a look-with same results,they read the systems but could not be definite at what was at fault. told it could be exspensive to do all parts and still not to be sure that would do the job. (250 to 500+ quoted)  so took the car home and after a while decided to try the temperature sensor (temp gauge going up then of the cold side)replaced sensor and rocker gasget and gave it a try---whalla !!!!! job done.one relieved guy--none of the garages even mentioned the sensor even though they knew about it.!!any way job done-and one very happy guy!!cheers and a happy new year to you all.!
