Possible BCM issue

Featured Replies

Hi all.

First post here.

im getting frustrated with my 2019 focus 1.5 diesel estate.

After a fuel filter change which involved disconnecting the battery, my Sync 3 system is not working.

All other electrics work fine and every other startup is showing a "Vehicle Network Communication Error" on the screen (screen remains blank on other engine start).

Ive tried fords reset by pushing power and seek up but that resulted in no change.

Any one else had any similar issues and how were they resolved or any ideas.

Thanks

I suspect the screen (APIM) has died, but

Before you take it back in, disconnect the negative terminal

Cover the battery terminal so it cannot be connected

Disconnect the positive terminal

touch the positive and negative battery cables together and hold for a few minutes.

ENSURE THEY DO NOT TOUCH THE BATTERY TERMINALS

connect the positive cable

connect the negative cable

See if it comes back to life

If it doesn't, you will need to go back to the garage that stopped it working, but it's probably too late now, you shouldn't have collected the car with the screen not working
