57 plate work shop/ Haynes manual

Featured Replies

Desperately trying to find a free digital

mk 2 Haynes / work shop repair manual

As have a pin hole or split pipe causing a whooshing noise and I have no idea where to look or how to fix the problem only had the vehicle. 3 weeks so still finding my way around the vehicle

Or any diagrams would be greatly appreciated

many thanks

stuart

Not sure you'll be able to find Haynes for free online.

Find the thick intercooler pipes near the radiator, then follow those back, one towards the turbo, the other towards the inlet manifold.

If you tell us exactly which engine it is, we might be able to find the boost pipe routing.

Sorry for the late response it is a 1.8 tdci engine I found the pipe to the inter cooler pipe was loose.sorted that problem out but still the whooshing sound

and many thanks for the information

Ok, good to hear one problem fixed.  This should be the boost pipe diagram if still needed.  The whooshing might just be normal for these, it's quite a large, old style turbo on the 1.8.  If not then there's probably another boost leak somewhere.  If you're not noticing a lack of power or black exhaust smoke then I wouldn't worry about it too much.
