Cost to service a Focus

Featured Replies

I have a 2019 Focus 1.0ltr ST Line and a couple of days ago I had a warning message pop up to say, Your oil needs to be changed soon.  I looked it up and it says the oil should be changed within 1000 miles or one month to avoid damage to the engine.

Fine I thought because the vehicle is due for a service in January but i thought wise to get it done soonest and booked a service.

I cannot believe the cost my dealer is charging for a service.....£400!  I have owned Mercs and VWs in the near past and was never charged anything like that.

I searched through the Ford website to try and find out what I will be getting for my £400 but it is not listed anywhere what is checked, changed or renewed!

Am I being ripped off by my dealer?  Why does not Ford list what a service does?  Is that the cost of all services or is it a special service?

£400 seems extortionate but for some reason I'm not totally shocked either. Could you call Ford and ask what the service exactly includes.

Is your car over 3 years old now? Do you have to keep taking it there?

Apologies if all sorted now.

Ford don't use a standard 'minor & major' service schedule.  Different things are changed at each one dependant on model & engine, so it's not easy to list.  In the past, I could access the intervals on the Ford ETIS site but this functionality has now been removed as the site is being decommissioned.  You may be able to access them through the Ford Pass app using your VIN for an exact match.

From memory, I think your £400 service will be the 4th year service, which includes the spark plugs, as well as oil, oil filter and cabin filter.
