Swapping alloys ( size help)

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have the standard diamond cut 18 inch alloys but want to swap to the 19 inch st alloys. What tyre size do I need?

Thanks

Your ride quality will be awful, but if you own an ST and want bigger wheels, I guess that's not a worry...

Okay thank you

This will show you the options.https://alloywheels.com › tyreCalculator

With my ST I alternate between 19’s for most of the year then run original 18” ST wheels while it’s winter - don’t actually notice much difference with ride quality between the 2 to be honest.

If you are under 30 years old, you won't LOL

Sadly my 30’s are only a distant memory now 😳

why would ride quality be worse with 19" wheels ?

Smaller sidewall on the tyres, so basically less air to cushion the ride.

Think you can count the number of under 30's on here on one hand now!

I never have been able to tolerate a rough ride myself, I had to reduce the wheel size on both my second and third cars, aged 18!

I've been working for awhile to reduce the size of my spare tyre but with little success 🤣
