Brake lights won’t go off

Featured Replies

Hi, hope some can give me some advice, I’ve just been told by another driver my brake lights are not going off. The brake lights go off if I do not have my side lights or headlights turned on but if I have any lights on the all 3 brake lights stay on and just go slightly dim when i release the brake. Any thing I can do or does it need to be looked at by a garage? (Passed MOT in august) (no recent bulb changes) ford fiesta 2015, thanks Cameron

It's a very simple fix in most cases.

Buy two (yes two) new 'Stop and Tail' (very often 21/5 Watt) lamps and replace both of the main brake light/tail lamps. Don't worry about the centre brake light it is not the cause of the fault.
