Minimal cabin heat

Featured Replies

Partners 2006 2.0 petrol S-max has very little heat from ventilation system. Is this likely to be a faulty thermostat om engine ? And if so how easy to fix ?

What is the temp gauge showing after say ten miles? Is it up to the middle?

no, that only moves when stationary......

It would seem that you need a new cooling system thermostat. Not normally a major job but I've never worked on an S-Max 2.0 petrol. @TomsFocus would probably have an idea of how easy it is to change.

Not sure what access is like on the S-Max but on 2.0 HE petrol engine the thermostat is just behind the aux belt, under the power steering pump/reservoir.  Bit fiddly to remove but not actually difficult.  On the smaller models I'd suggest removing the headlight for better access but that may or not help on the S-Max.
