2004 fiesta concentric slave cylinder

Featured Replies

Hello everyone,

Car has seemed to met its fate and won't go into any gear I believe the job that needs doing is a concentric slave which is located inside the gearbox as this is a gearbox out job it would be best to do the clutch at the same time.

Has anyone had this job done on their ford fiesta mk5/6? And what was the cost?

Car details - Ford fiesta zetec 1.4 2004

Can you select gears with the engine off?

Yes, if the slave has failed, fit a decent quality 3 piece clutch kit.  Cost around £400 at an indy garage.

No not even with the engine off, clutch pedal just hits the ground. Brake fluid just dumped its self all over the drive. 🙂

That does not sound right. If it is just a clutch problem and the cause is a failed slave cylinder then with the engine off you should be able to select most if not all gears (except reverse).

If you can't select any gear with the engine off then this would suggest there maybe a bigger problem, like damage to the gearbox as well as the slave cylinder issue.
