2014 focus - mirror and lock not working

Featured Replies

I'm wondering if this is weather related (it started on saturday when the temperatures dropped)... when we lock/unlock the car with the key fob, the mirror doesn't move and the lock stays locked*. Then yesterday we got a brake light warning**. Is there a junction box or similar where the cables pass through, and it has somehow got frozen/exposed to damp? Thanks!

*lock now working (slightly warmer today), but not mirror

**I have not yet checked which light, not looked at fuses. too ***** cold and dark!

On deicing my car with my watering can of warm water, I always run water over the driver's door lock and rubber seals as they often freeze. First car I've had that is susceptible to freezing like this!
