I don’t have admin tools to ban ip addresses so having to just ban accounts. I’ve messaged the admins to ask them to maybe implement some restrictions to curb it.

or if admin are absent delegate some powers to those here regularly, its a great resource even if the regulars do get sidetracked

Apologies, we're on it and should hopefully sever the source of these spammers that are attacking the site.

UPDATE:  that should have now sorted the spammer invasion!
p.s. if anyone fancies a cheap flight to an exotic destination it seems they have some good deals 🙂

On the topic of spam and scams, I've noticed that there seems to be an increase at this time of year, which is happening again. Most of the online stuff is filtered out by my email providers, but I've had quite a few calls on my landline.

The favourite at present seems to be automated messages about renewing my "Amazon subscription" (which I don't have), asking you to press this or that button. Significantly the messages don't mention a number to call and on checking my caller display (or register if I've come back and found a "missed call" message) have apparently come from what look like genuine local numbers.

So the scammers are obviously faking a number to "front" the scam and trick you into picking up. We always screen calls from unknown numbers via the answerphone anyway.

i got the Amazon Prime one yesterday and that they'd charged me £95.00, most know NOT to call my number as they get shouted at to F--- -of even if its a real person, virgin used to be bad for this, i even had a call from a senior manager as to why i was swearing at his staff he got similar short shrift after i explained why.
