MK3 shaking when braking & tyre pressure sensor warning

Featured Replies

Hey everyone

I felt my 2015 MK3 shaking a bit when braking last week, I thought it was just ABS since it was wet/icy but it's started happening every time I brake almost regardless of speed.

1-2 weeks ago I had warning saying the tyre pressure sensor was not detected if I recall correctly, but it never happened again so I thought maybe it was just a bug.

But today the rumbling is much worse and the error is back - i've stopped driving it until I can get it seen but that'll be after new years.

Just wondering if anyone has any idea what it might be? I did have a full service + MOT done on it about a month ago and it passed without any issues.

The service didn't say if they replaced anything (I know I should have asked, not going back to that garage).

Thanks

I take it you've checked the tyre pressure?

I recall years ago a work colleague asking me what abs should feel like as she drove the car to work on a frosty day and said it didn’t feel normal and wondered if it was the abs.  The reason it didn’t feel right was that one front tyre was totally flat!

I haven't checked the pressure with a pump but they're not flat. I'll borrow one tomorrow and check the PSI

As long as your have a size 8 shoe or bigger just give them a good kick. If your foot bounces back then there is still some air in the tyre. 😉
