Mild hybrid breaking problem

Featured Replies

I took my new Fiesta (mild hybrid, automatic) back to the dealer's service dept, because I didn't like the way I was being thrown forward and then back into my seat when breaking to a stop (at traffic lights etc).  I was advised to be very gentle with the breaks and let the electric generator/motor do most of the slowing.  I'm doing this, but if I have to stop when I don't expect to (e.g. as lights change) I still get bounced back into my seat.  Does anyone else have this problem?  If it's normal, I see it as a design flaw.

Yes, it's normal.  It's made the car undriveable for me.  People have different tolerance thresholds though.  Most seem to get used to it quickly.

Either drive the car more and adapt to how it works or give it back.

I have the same problem, it's a nuisance. I've had the car 4yrs and still can't brake smooth but only when going slow.

Funny one this. The brakes on my non-hybrid are quite sensitive which I adapted to but always notice when swapping between cars.

The only MHEVs I've driven were Pumas, most recently for several hours, and I didn't notice an issue at all.
