New headlights dim

Featured Replies

I find the headlights on my new Fiesta quite dim compared to my last Fiesta - especially on unlit roads.  I've started putting the front fogs on for more light.  Any comments?

Don’t use fog lights unless visibility is reduced, and that doesn’t mean if you lights are dim.

Ian, if it helps you see better, I'd have no problems using the front fogs - they're slung down low and will not effect oncoming cars.

Absolutely! Unless you have a healthy disregard from such nonsense LOL I use to run my old Merc C class all the time with front fogs on as the headlights were genuinely cr*p! But like you say, PC plod on a really slow day may have a word with you...

Are these fogs that come on individually with 2deg of steering wheel movement an admission that the car has poor headlights.........

No

Mark,

If the headlights are good enough, why do the individual foglights come on at all then, for what can be a ridiculously small steering input ?

Two simple things. Are the lenses clean and beams set up correctly? If dirty and/or too low they will be poor.  Being a 2022 car, are they LED or normal Halogen? If halogen you can fit high output halogen bulbs for around £20-30. I don't think you can do anything with factory fitted LEDs though.
