Heated front windscreen

Featured Replies

My heated front windscreen only clears about quarter of the window is the window on a few different fuses or is it something else that needs to be sorted

The front screen is split in two half's, Passenger side and Drivers side.

As the screens get older the very fine heating elements that are embedded in the glass break and slowly, little by little less of the screen gets cleared.

Sometimes unfortunately a large stone bounces up off the road and breaks the windscreen, and it has to be replaced. This has a side benefit that the heated screen works once more.

if you search through lots of posts the left side tends to get damaged electrical connection... a lot of early cars left the factory like it

her replacement screen died on the left shortly after fitting by autoglass- they swapped it out - and now the replacement is working correctly - the current pull switching this on is horrific - its makes the rev drop about 10 fold that of switching on the rear screen and headlights

Sounds like you may still have an issue with the screen, it shouldn't cause the revs to drop, by much, unless you have a poor alternator/tired battery.

the original screen was the same
