FORD SONY CAR RADIO MP3 CD PLAYER TRANSIT MK7 2007 2008 2009 2010 2011 2012 2013 | eBay

if not, what would apart from the cd6000 one, thanksI

I was going to say that this is the 'curved' head unit designed for later models than you have, but it looks as if it's been fitted with a rectangular adapter which may fit the 'square' edged 6000CD. Someone cleverer than me should be along shortly...

Physically it should fit without a problem. Electrically it will have all the same wires / functions but I'm not sure they will be the same connectors. With a little work I would expect the connectors, if different could be altered to suit the replacement.

what would be the best direct replacement, thanks

The only direct replacement guaranteed to fit, plug straight in and work first time is the exact same unit that your car already has.

Due to the vast array of connectors and configurations of radios, it's not often that you will find two different models that will be a straight replacement.

Don't forget these are just old-style standalone headunits, they are plug & play electronically in Fords of the same era.

However the physical depth of some of these units is different.  I know Mondeo units don't fit the Focus, despite looking the same from the front.  I'm not sure whether the Transit ones do or not.  The later Fiesta's used the same style, with the square adapter around the curved unit.
