Should I remap my Mk4 1.5 182ps?

Featured Replies

So while spending time at the mother-in-laws place I spent some time on AutoTrader looking at Focus ST's (as you do) but unfortunately, the better half quite likes the current Focus and commented I "should just remap it". I see Mountune do a 200ps map offering a slight BHP increase and torque boost which could partially satiate my desire to be a yobbo.

The £600 for it seems more sensible than the 8-10k I'd need after trading in the Vignale for an ST! Anyone have any experience of doing this and should I even bother?  😁Cheers

No, but I see Superchips offer a similar increase at around £260 at the mo. The advantage of Mountune was that some of their upgrades were Ford approved and retained warranty but afaik this is no longer the case. I guess yours will have expired (or nearly) anyway unless you have an extended warranty.

Ah good shout thank you, seems pretty decently priced compared to MT, and yeah my warranty is well past expired. Also just checked with the insurer and the grant total for the change would be £31.67 including the £25 admin fee!
