I am very cynical on this annual pat on the back for rich & famous, but sometimes, there is someone very 'ordinary' who gets highlighted for doing something that most simply take for granted. I'm sure we all have local heroes who qualify, but this one caught my eye today in the Belfast Telegraph. He sweeps streets in a local town... Don't worry, the brief video of him is subtitled LOL

When ever i’m in town and pass a litter picker, i always go out of my way to say “You’re doing a worth while job and making a difference”, 👍

Surely Stephen you must be getting at least an MBE for service to industry, promoting the Maypole charger 🤣🤣🤣

Maybe the FOC admin will give you a special medal 😀

I even drop some litter nearby so he or she knows there job is safe. That's the caring sort of person I am.

Yeah there’s a lot of caring people in my local town just like you

A schoolmate of mine is getting an MBE for services to maritime safety. He's been mechanic on our local lifeboat for 30 odd years.
