Drl issue

Featured Replies

Hi, any help for the following would be greatly appreciated! I have a 2019 focus with adaptive headlights and I've noticed that the drl on the passenger side flickers when unlocking the car. It will flicker and go off on cold mornings and  when indicating the drl flickers. If I buy a replacement module/ballast for the light would it need to be coded or are they plug and play? The car is out of warranty or I would have popped to the local dealer. Thanks for taking the time to read.

I don't think that replacing parts other than the actual DRL will solve the problem. I'd first check for any poor connections, check that the plug is correctly seated and hasn't got water ingress.

You could try swapping the module from one headlamp to the other and see if the problem moves to work out of its the light or module.

Just don't forget to swap them back.

If it is the headlamp is would be asking for some goodwill from Ford

Thanks, I'll give that a try. If it is the headlamp I'll certainly try for some goodwill!

Thank you, I'll go through  everything and see what happens. Hopefully it won't be too expensive.

Thanks for the help and advice, I swapped the ballast/module over and it did the same thing on the other light. So I'll go down the route of a new module. Also I now need a tab repair kit as the front one broke off removing the headlight😖
