Ford focus wet belt

Featured Replies

Hi, I have focus ecoboost 2017 and wondering if I need a wet belt change along with cambelt? Iv read so many mixed things some saying these models don’t have a problem with the wet belt.. but then read some things saying if it goes the car is only good for scrap. I’m so worried about this but at the same time don’t want to pay all that money out getting it down if it doesn’t need it. Can anybody advise?

The wet timing belt is the cambelt. They just get called different names.

They only need replaced at 10 years of age or 100,000 miles which ever comes sooner. Current cost of the work at a Ford main dealer is between £1500 and £1700

Yearly oil changes with the Ford recommended oil specification should help reduce the potential early failure.
