Help!! Focus CC something snapped!

Featured Replies

Can anyone help? I put the roof down on my 07 focus cc and it made a crunch noise as it got near the end of the cycle, the boot wouldn't close properly so I closed the roof back up again and had a look to find a piece has broken off! Can anyone help with where it may have broken from and if It can be repaired?https://photos.app.goo.gl/StiPMdsaNHWB7uP59

You will be lucky to find any Ford garage that will even look at it.

Unofix is correct, Ford Dealers are usually not equipped to repair Ford cars. Try clicking here and make a few phone calls to see where to go next...

I'm not sure that is actually part of the roof.  Looks too small for the job.  I think it's more likely a locking rod for the latch instead.

That looks like it would have a spring attached to the hook end . Could be one of two rods that provide tension to the  manual boot opening procedure. (keeps the boot from dropping down on your head)

That's my guess, so I would be looking for another one

I can't see it, I looked earlier. Looked at all the procedures in etis and couldn't recognise the part.

This is quite an interesting video (still can't see the broken part).

Also note the error of clockwise & anti-clockwise

I remember when these nightmare vehicles came out. We had to to go on a ford course before touching the roof mechanism. We had the mechanism , roof panels, the lot off the donor car. And I don't think anyone managed to refit the ***** thing without some mishap or damage.
