I need help please: faulty electrics

Featured Replies

Took my car to have a passenger wing mirror changed (Ford Focus titanium x Tdci 2015) the replacement part that was put on it was faulty. the mechanic then replaced the part with the correct part, however now my electrics are messed up. The mechanic is stating that the wing mirror would not have caused this. I said the mechanic that there was no issue with the mechanics before it was changed. They are now refusing to acknowledge that the part could have messed the electrics. (this has cost me a fortune in hire cars -that there customer service office agreed to- and I just want the cost of the car hire covered )

Any help please

Can you elaborate on what exactly is messed up?

Please go into detail about the “messed up” bit of your post!! What part of the electrical system are “messed up?”

Was it a FORD dealer?

Was the part genuine OEM or eBay special?

What part needed to be replaced to make the wing mirror to work?

Hi sorry,

My cruise control does not work, my gear change notification and a couple of times the face panel has gone blank. Alongside this, the car has gone into "limp Mode" 2 times (each time taken it back to the mechanic).

They fitted it with a faulty part- admitted it was faulty- then changed it to a "proper" part. Ok not ford original.

When the faulty part was fitted it when I noticed the electrics not working.

It was Halfords, The part was from Jayar euro parts and they replaced the whole wing mirror.

The wing mirror got side swiped and cracked the glass and indicator glass- so they replaced the whole wing mirror.

When it was cracked the wing mirror still worked- just the indicator light didnt. However, there was no issue with the electrics when it was smashed.

I forgot to mention- how i need the help 😞

I was wondering of someone can show me where I could find a legislation and/or policy (or something) that states that if a faulty part has been used as a replacement- that it can cause electrics to become faulty. Or something like that

I don't think there is anything matching specifically what you want, but this may be in the right direction...
